Hello everyone. I have been busy with my internship but I will post regularly from now. Today, I am reviewing a supernatural horror story written by Ellowyn. I received an ARC and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I thought that it would be like all other horror stories but that was not so.
The story begins with Arthur Sommer, a high school teacher, barely getting through the motions of life. Though he has supportive friends (Luna and Henry) his life doesn’t really begin after he accepts the job of teaching students about farming. Unfortunately, the farm he buys is said to be cursed and Arthur soon finds out that it is indeed the truth. With his students set to arrive the next day, what can Arthur do? A normal person would have run for their lives but you know what Arthur does? He shoots at the Scarecrow that is haunting the farm. This is the scene in which we ponder whether there is a chance that the Scarecrow is not a menace.
After the students arrive, one insomniac student discovers the existence of Scarecrow and teaches him how to communicate! Slowly, everyone in the farm learns about Scarecrow and they begin to interact with him. Arthur too realizes that the Scarecrow means no harm. He discovers why and how the Scarecrow was made and tries to reverse the curse. Will he succeed? Or will all his efforts have been for nothing?
Get the book to see how it ends. You won’t regret reading this one but this book is not for those looking for heart stopping moments.
Warning: Non-graphic description of blood sacrifice and rituals.
Rating: I am rating this book 3.3 out of 5.
