Battle for Power by Syren Fountanez

Hello, readers! Today I am reviewing a historical fiction but surprisingly, it has become one of my favorite books. Battle for Power is a story about a young prince, Wyatt, who has to face many obstacles in his life. Unlike most stories, this one doesn’t make the hero kill the one that is denying him the right to the throne. What’s more, Wyatt actually develops a good relationship with his Uncle Leonard. It’s good to see authors break away from the traditional way of writing a story.

The story is not merely about Wyatt’s ascend to the throne. It shows us the friendships he develops along the way and also how much he loves his family and friends. The character that most piqued my interest was Astrum, a close friend of Wyatt. I wish that the author had written more about the character but hey we can’t have everything. The story is fast paced and keeps us entertained. Julian, the childhood friend of Wyatt irritates us because of his poor decisions in the beginning but realizes his mistakes and repents. His character is written in a way that no matter how much we want to hate him we can’t.

The true antagonist is revealed near the middle of the novel and we hate the antagonist at once. I do not want to say anything more about that character as don’t want to give spoilers. The antagonist truly does everything that can be done to banish the happiness of Wyatt.

So, will Wyatt be able to protect his family and friends and rule his people without trouble? Read the book and let me know what you think about Wyatt and his friends. The book truly doesn’t disappoint.

Rating: I am rating this book an astonishing 4.6 out of 5.

Warning: There is non-graphic torture and adultery in this book. Both are crucial to the story plot but can be skipped while reading.

As always, let me know your thoughts and like or share this review if you love it.
