Hey guys! Today I am reviewing an ARC and it’s good. I hope you all check out the book when it releases on Sep 13th. It’s only 50k words long but manages to tell the love story of a couple.
The story starts with a mourning bisexual, Silas, who eventually learns to love again. The author does a great job of showing Silas’ conflicting emotions. He is reluctant to let go of the past but at the same time his love interest, Kai, manages to create a place for him in his heart. Kai is exactly what Silas needs in his life.
At first glance, the story seems like a well-worn plot. Two guys meet and they fall in love but the author adds her spin to the plot and that’s is what makes the story interesting. In the end, all we want to read is a good story that keeps us entertained. So, this is a good book to check out.
I personally love how Silas is completely oblivious when someone is interested in him. It’s hilarious how we can see what is coming next when he remains clueless about the other person’s feelings. I don’t want to elaborate and end up giving out spoilers. Let’s simply say that I hope you enjoy that part if you decide to give this book a chance.
More than the love story what I appreciate the most in this story is how well the supporting characters are written. My favorite character in this book is Silas’ best friend, Wesley.
I do have to warn you though. There is a scene in which mild sexual assault takes place. Also, if daddy kink isn’t your cup of tea, stay away from this book or skip the sex scenes.
Rating: All things considered, I am rating this book 3.8 out of 5.
